FAQ

Common questions

Which calculator tells me how many lots to trade on gold?

The position size calculator answers that. You enter your account balance, the percentage you are willing to risk, your entry price and your stop distance, and it returns a lot size for XAU/USD where 1 standard lot is 100 oz. It converts your risk into ounces and lots so the stop, not the leverage, sets your size.

What is the pip value calculator for on XAU/USD?

The pip value calculator converts a price move into money. On gold one pip is 0.01, and with 1 standard lot equal to 100 oz a one-pip move is worth a fixed dollar amount per lot; the tool scales that to your actual size. Use it to see what a 30-pip stop costs before you place it.

How is the margin calculator different from the position size calculator?

They answer different questions. Position size starts from the risk you accept and works out the lot size; the margin calculator starts from a lot size and price and works out the collateral the broker blocks. At 1:500 on standard forex accounts, within DFSA/SCA-compliant limits, a 0.10-lot gold position needs about $85.50 margin.

Can the profit calculator show me the result in AED?

The profit calculator works from your entry, exit and lot size and shows the gain or loss in the quote currency of XAU/USD, which is USD. Converting to AED depends on the rate your bank or broker applies at the time, so treat the AED figure as an estimate and check the conversion your provider actually uses.

What do the pivot point tools add that the other calculators do not?

The pivot point tool is about levels, not money. It takes a prior session's high, low and close and returns pivot, support and resistance levels you can compare with current price. Pair it with the position size and pip value calculators so a level-based stop is translated into a defined risk before you commit.
